I made up this species called "Rekka" (plural is the same, no "s" or "es" at the end) sometime in April or May of '06. They're somewhat like dragons and somewhat like wolves, and about as endangered today (in their universe, of course) as our giant panda. This Rekka is a female, perhaps 20 years old in human numbers, named ShadowShine.

ShadowShine was struck in the eyes by a magic attack and nearly killed when she was very young. The healer of her clan managed to save her life at the expense of her eyes; ShadowShine was blind forever. Her twin sister, ForestFire, and her grandfather, DarkStar, helped her tone up her other four senses so that blindness would never be a weakness. Even now, ShadowShine can run through a forest and never bump into a tree because of her hearing, smell and touch senses.

ShadowShine is a strong and honorable individual. She knows her facts well and isn't likely to ever be outsmarted by anyone. She loves her family, particularly her sailor-mouthed sister who knows every curse in every language. ShadowShine, though friendly and wise, isn't afraid to kick someone's ass and kick it hard.

Her previous picture, the one submitted last May, was deleted because this is the new revision of her. ShadowShine is now less long, and has some more fur on her than she did before. She has spines on the whole of her head now and not just in the back and down to the tail. She's copyrighted to ME
